Business Income / Business Interruption Worksheet
Estimate how much business income coverage you actually need. The workbook follows the ISO CP 15 15 worksheet structure, calculates net income plus continuing expenses, projects exposure for the restoration period you choose, checks the coinsurance requirement, and suggests a limit. Every ISO term has a plain-English comment.

Questions
What is the period of restoration?
The time it would take, with reasonable speed, to repair or replace the damaged property and resume operations. Business income coverage pays for the period of restoration, so the worksheet lets you choose the months and see the exposure for that period.
Should I include ordinary payroll?
If you would keep paying hourly staff during a shutdown to retain them, yes; the worksheet includes ordinary payroll by default. Policies can limit ordinary payroll to 60, 90, or 180 days, and the Inputs sheet lets you model that election.
What does the coinsurance check do?
Business income forms often carry a coinsurance percentage of 50 to 125 percent. If your limit is below the required percentage of the annual figure, the carrier reduces the loss payment proportionally. The Calculation sheet compares your limit to the requirement and flags a shortfall.
Is this the same as the ISO CP 15 15 form?
The worksheet follows the structure of CP 15 15 (Business Income Report/Work Sheet) so the figures transfer directly, but it is not the ISO form and does not replace one your carrier asks you to sign. OWNER REVIEW comments mark the lines that correspond to the form.
What about extra expense?
Extra expense is what you spend beyond normal costs to keep operating, such as a temporary location or expedited shipping. Enter an estimate on the Inputs sheet; it is added to the suggested limit and noted separately because some policies cover it on a separate limit.
